After careful thought, you now know that having a good opt-in list is essential. You have come to this decision after having ready countless articles, sought expert advice and having read numerous case studies of successful people using opt-in lists. By the way, since you do not already have an opt-in list you may be losing money now.

Or, you maybe hiring writers to ghost write for you. There could be some other expenses that you are incurring. Even if you have a big list but only a very small percentage actually buys from you, you are still losing money. It won’t take you long, perhaps a few months and you will realize that your sales are not as much as your expenses.

So, what could be the source of the problem? Why doesn’t your success match that of others? The most common mistake is that you dove straight right in. You chose a topic where you thought could be quite popular and would earn you money. This is just not the case. Just because you wrote people from the list doesn’t mean they are going to buy instantly.

1) Get your customers to trust you and your products first. Simply blasting to your list without credibility will not cause someone to buy from you. A good practice would be to visit already established forums about the theme of your list, learn of the want and needs of others and then build your list targeting those want and needs.

Join forums from other sites as well. Provide expert advices and recommendations. After you have become a regular poster to the forum people will want to join you opt-in list. By posting a link to your site if it is permitted by the forum owner, you can let people know what your business is all about.

The fact of the matter is that people will not buy from you if they don’t trust you. Therefore, you must build that trust first. Your subscribers will spend their money for what they think is an honest price for what you are promoting. Your recommendation won’t mean much if your customers don’t already trust your judgement.

2) Find a product or service that people want and need. Although it may not be your forte, if you provide a service or product that you have researched and learned about well, you can still promote it.

Do not make the error of initially attempting to promote something you have a personal affinity for. That quite possibility may not be a money making niche. Perform the proper marketing research and you will be rewarded with substantial profits. Moreover, a good idea would be to give them extra marketing material that they could actually use themselves and also would not mind spreading around.

3) Establish a working relationship with other people who own opt-in lists. This is beneficial especially if it is someone who has already launched a successful opt-in list.

Receiving suggestions from experienced opt-in list users is a good idea. They have the experience and they won’t mind sharing it.

Make a money making subscriber list overnight is not being in reality. There are many preparations to do. You build opt-in lists from the beginning. But the quality must be kept up at all times. I will close by saying that if you want people on your lists to buy from you, you must give them good information they can use. By doing that they will stay on your opt-in list. If you would join a forum or perhaps a few forums, you can learn what your potential customers want and need. And you must do proper keyword research in order to make sure that your opt-in list is targeted.
